Georgia Archives
Georgia Archives/Chiller HVAC. The Georgia Archives is a 4-story 172,000
square foot State of Georgia archives storage facility. MCA of Georgia
member McKenney's designed and installed the interoperable controls
system for optimum
climate control.
Chewing Gum Factory
MCA of Georgia member contractor Specialty Mechanical Services,
Inc., completed an addition of a new chewing gum line to a facility in
Georgia, installing and erecting all equipment including Process
Piping (Stainless
Stell, Sanitary Piping & Jacketed Piping) and HVAC. The project included
installation of all material conveying systems, manufacturing equipment,
chillers, boilers, pumps and associated piping.
Philips Arena
The Philips Arena holds over 20,000 people and hosts events from
basketball to hockey to music concerts. Not just for event goers,
the facility is
also home to 4 nightclubs and 12 retail stores. MCA of Georgia member
contractors brought the $213 million project to life in less than two years,
on time and on budget.
Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium, located in downtown Atlanta, has been touted to be
the largest aquarium of its kind in the nation. This 430,000-sq.-ft.
facility covers 6 acres of land, contains 8 acres of floor space
and holds
more than 5 million gallons of fresh and saltwater that recirculates
through the facility's treatment system approximately every 60 to
80 minutes. The aquarium's systems are reportedly designed to use
less water than the
average office building. Visitors will be able to view over 50,000
aquatic animals from approximately 500 species when the aquarium
opens in 2005.
